Ryan Dempster signs a baseball for a young girl affected by 22q11.2 deletion. Ryan and his wife Jenny founded the Dempster Family Foundation after their daughter, Riley, was diagnosed with a 22q11.2 deletion, a disorder caused by a deletion on chromosome 22q11.2, that seriously impeded her ability to feed and swallow. Since January 2010, the Dempster Family Foundation’s mission is to lend support to charities and organizations supporting children with a 22q11.2 deletion.

Ryan Dempster hugged a young fan as a part of the Dempster Foundation’s pregame event where they hosted families affected by 22q11.2 deletion. Ryan teamed up with the Braves Brian McCann to host this event.

The Dempster Family Foundation hosted families affected by 22q11.2 deletion before last night’s Cubs vs. Braves game at Turner Field. Ryan Dempster was joined by Braves catcher Brian McCann at the event to help Strike Out 22q.
